Hello Blue Mosque. The history of the Blue Mosque dates back to the early 1600s. The mosque was built by Sultan Ahmed I in the Sultanahmet area, the core of Old Istanbul. Contrary to popular belief, the mosque is not the largest mosque in Istanbul.
